Gold Country Fishing
When you’re staying at Gold Country Campground, you’re spoiled for options when it comes to things to keep you active. However, what if you don’t want to be all that active? What if you want an activity that’s incredibly relaxing yet at the same time can net you a great meal? If you haven’t caught on to all the hooks we’ve been dangling, well, you’ve missed the boat on the angle we’re taking, fishing in Gold Country!
Lake Camanche Fishing
One great spot to drop a line is in Lake Camanche. While it is best known for great bass fishing, Lake Camanche is also a favorite spot of trout anglers. You can find rainbow trout, large and small mouth bass, spotted bass, catfish, kokanee, crappie, bluegill, and sunfish.
Both shores are accessible to anglers. A great spot to take kids to fish is the large trout pond at the South Shore. There is a fee of $6.25 to fish here.
Lake Pardee Fishing
Lake Pardee is a 2,000-acre lake over by Ione. One of the best things about this lake is that personal watercraft are banned. This means you won’t find any wave runners, jet skis, water-skiing, wakeboarding, or any other motor-dependent water sports.
This helps keep the water quiet and tranquil, which makes for amazing fishing. Lake Pardee is full of trout, bass, and kokanee salmon meaning Gold Country fishing is pretty good!
